Ignorance is Your New Bestfriend

         Religion often blamed as a main cause of the conflict in the world. Holy war, as they named it, lead to a bloodshed and a destruction of the world. If we look at the history, there was a lot, I mean lots of war happened in the name of God like Thirty Years' War which involved Protestants and Catholic and Second Sudanese Civil War which involved Islam and Christian. It is true that religion has been a major factor in some historical conflicts and now in the modern world comes terrorism. Religion has taken into spotlight today because globalization is challenging and changing everything. Religion identity can be used when national and political alliances break apart like in Nigeria when it is nearly equally divided between Christianity and Islam. 

        We can't deny that the world moves rapidly. Information has spread easily across country. In this kind of democration era, it is more easy to gather people joining discussion group so they can spread any kind of informations. What people sometimes don't realize, our unconcious mind will react to any kind of informations we received.  If I quote Schlinger's theory on Theory of Minds, 

"Individuals tend to make conclusion based on what other people think and then predicted their upcoming action based on what they've preserved". 

          Somehow, when people catch information about the unjust action that happened in Middle East such as Palestine, they tend to put themselves in victim's perspective to create such sympathy. In the end, it will reinforce the identity linkage that him and his community have been victims. The aformentioned argument is strengthen with Le Bon's theory of Crowd Behavioral Theory that a person's intelligence will decrease because they follow certain community's ideology. Sadly, people use religion as an excuse.

       Religion is something personal and it will be very dangerous if someone use it as a personal interest. There's nothing wrong with religion, for that religion at its core was created to foster peace, compassion, and brotherhood while providing ethical guidance and nurturing the inherent good in humanity, reflecting a generous and loving Supreme Being. If religion did not exist, there would still be people murdering others in that exact same way, but claiming different reasons. Religion did not bring evil to people, those people twist their religion for the evil that already lies within them. 

        Something that you read, isn't always what's right. If you read media around the world, I assure you that you will find the exact same thing in most of them. There's nothing wrong with what they say because media always be media, but it becomes pathetic when you are being an ignorant. Judging something from a single sherd of glass while you are ignoring the whole frame. Because when they're feeding innocent people with 'facts' they didn't even truly understand, then they will become ignorant. Lots of people are ignorant. Ignorance now becomes world's bestfriend. Ignorance is your new bestfriend.
